All For Girls (AFG) is an organization for the freshman through senior girls of Chapman High School. The club meets the second Wednesday of every month and the meetings are approximately 30 minutes in length. The meetings mainly consist of guest speakers. Topics that have been covered are: Date Rape, Peer Pressure, and Teen Pregnancy, prom ideas, and self-defense.
All For Girls (AFG) is a great club to be involved in if you don’t have a lot of time for out of school activities. It is a fun club where you can learn a lot about each other as well as yourself. The students who are members say they really enjoy being a part of AFG. This club is always open to new members.
History Of AFG:
The first all-girls organization in the high school was called Girl Reserves, which became the Y-Teens organization in 1947. Its purpose was to teach fellowship, receive superior scholarship, create high morals, and develop charm and social poise. In 1988, the Y-Teens club dropped their national affiliation with the YWCA because of cost and created a new club called AFG (All For Girls). Through this organization, which meets once a month, the girls learn how to better themselves.
Major AFG Events:
Power Puff Football Game in the Fall.
Dues and Membership:
AFG dues are $2.00 for the year. Dues must be paid to be a member. T-Shirts are $11.00. Approximately 50 girls join every year.
